Have been virtually and physically away for quite a while.
Have been busy presenting lectures to student-writers and school paper advisers of different schools here in Cavite and some municipalities/cities of CALABARZON.
Exhausted, I checked my mail as I arrived home from Calamba City.
I felt great and excited to read an invitation to volunteer for the First WordCamp in Southeast Asia. It will be held on 6 September 2008 at College of St. Benilde, Taft Avenue, Manila.
It will be a gathering of WordPress Bloggers, seemingly a group of brilliantly extraordinary minds and expressively creative souls. (Would it be arrogance to make me think am one of them, too? :D)
For more details, please click philippines.wordcamp.org
Here are the generous sponsors that make the event a success.

It was raining, and it was traffic. Situations like these, roads to and from Manila are thanklessly tiresome.
At about 30 minutes past 8 pm, hunger was starting to strike me. Exhaustion was beginning to haunt and defeat me. Good thing I was seated beside a very jovial father whom I instantly shared a chat with. Read the rest of this entry »

Did you know…?
the Philippines’ organic red rice
(Oryza Rufipogon) comprises five bioactives and biological effects?
1) Organic red rice contains the powerful antioxidant Co - Enzyme Q10
which counters histamine. This helps asthma and allergy sufferers.
2) It has Tocotrienols (which are 6,000 times more potent than Vitamin E)
and Tocopherols. These lower cholesterol levels of LDL and elevate HDL levels. Read the rest of this entry »

Thanks to DepEd’s suspension of classes last Monday, June 23, I was able to fulfill my promise to my gems.
I treated them to a movie, Urduja. The trailer of this all-Filipino, full-length animation film has been shown on TV for quite a while and I personally have committed to support it.
Aside from the resolute and resilient character of Urduja that simply personifies an unconventional woman (I must say unconventional during its epoch - remember that Urduja is about a legendary warrior-princess who is recognized as a heroine in the province of Pangasinan.) it is Wang, dubbed by ace character actor, Johnny Delgado, whom I enjoyed the most. He is one true reflection of greed and wickedness.
Besides, too, the love story that Urduja myth is famous for, social satire is what the animation presents. Trying to infuse historical element of Spanish colonizers’ viciousness towards Filipino native dwellers during Pre-Spanish and Spanish era, Wang’s musical of Simple Lang ang aking pangarap… ang nais ko lang ay ang ilalim, ibabaw, panabi at paligid (to that sort) and his ripping of the Philippines from the map was apparent. How could the very person who gave you joy be the very same person who could give you sorrow…
How could the person who made you smile be the very same person who could make you cry…
How could the person who brought you love be the very same person who could bring you hatred and indifference…
How could the person who caused your delight and bliss be the very same person who could cause you agony and pain…
How could the person who comforted you be the very same person who would leave you broken.
Tell me how…please tell me why? I don’t really understand how…I can’t comprehend why.
